EuroNetting Multilateral Netting
System security
Running your netting system on the Internet offers many benefits, but it also demands a high level of security to ensure only you and your netting participants have access to your information. EuroNetting delivers this security with a comprehensive set of security features that have passed intensive security and penetration testing by two of the world's largest financial institutions:
Two operating sites: The EuroNetting service operates from two distinct sites, ensuring a high level of disaster recovery in addition to excellent load balancing.
Separate corporate database: Your netting data is stored in its own SQL Server database, not mixed with data from other companies as has been typical with the older generation of remote access systems. Access to your SQL database is granted through a database ID and password that is unique for each EuroNetting Online client.
Dedicated hardware with RAID-1 and RAID-5 fault tolerance: to guarantee effective disaster recovery to our clients, EuroNetting runs at two physically separate live sites; each site runs consists of a cluster of 4 dedicated application and database servers that host only EuroNetting. RAID configuration ensures that multiple copies of all data are stored at all times, in addition to the daily backups. Our servers are located at two of the world's top 5 hosting companies, guaranteeing fast and reliable Internet connectivity and a full set of hardware maintenance and security services.
Firewall: Our web servers sit behind dedicated firewalls that we manage remotely. Our firewalls restrict traffic to and from the servers to just that needed to run and maintain the service. All maintenance is provided over an encrypted VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnel.
Regular backups: Your data is not only secure, but highly available. Database backups are scheduled to run at regular intervals and can be adjusted to your own requirements. Real-time copies of all client databases are stored at both sites using advanced replication technology. Copies of backups are stored offsite for additional data security.
SSL: EuroNetting uses the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) to provide authenticated and encrypted communication between you and the web server. This function is most visible to users through the EuroNetting logon URL  that uses the 'https' parameter instead of 'http' used by non-SSL sites. For more information about SSL, see this page.
User logon validation: You will assign a unique User ID to each of your users; to log on to EuroNetting Online, they have to provide the correct company ID, user ID and their current password. The user's identity is tracked from page to page within the netting system and the functions available to the user are revalidated on each new page.
Optional IP address validation: As an added security measure, you can optionally specify a mandatory IP address from which a user is permitted to access the netting system.
With all these security features EuroNetting does not need the addition of hardware-based security devices or any other local software setup that can slow down or complicate setting up your netting center and participants.
